Two wedding professionals tie the knot!
Caitlyn, owner of CW Events & Design, and Josh, a wedding DJ, were introduced by a mutual friend; however, it's thanks to their careers in the wedding industry that their paths continued to cross and love quickly blossomed. Josh proposed to Caitlyn at the finish line of the 2019 Boston Marathon and they planned to wed the following year.
You can imagine when two wedding professionals come together they may have a pretty specific vision in mind. For Catilyn and Josh their short list of must-haves included: a true wedding weekend and a venue neither had previously worked at. Caitlyn recalls a desire to find a spot by the ocean and Josh always wanted a white barn. Fastforward, the couple secured a venue in Rhode Island and Caitlyn simultaneously found herself wearing her wedding planner hat touring The Greenery for future clients. At this time The Greenery was still under construction; however, it was unwaveringly apparent in its early stages that the venue was a labor of love, merging a modern creative aesthetic with classic New England charm.
The Covid-19 pandemic forced Caitlyn and Josh to reschedule their wedding and the difficult decision to do so was met with the silver lining that some things are destined to be - The Greenery was now open and available! The couple officially moved their wedding to The Greenery, which meant re-planning the festivities in less than two months. They did it with the help of Renee from Urban Soiree, which leads to Caitlyn's singular advice for newly engaged couples, “Hire a wedding planner! Don’t think twice, just do it! I’m not saying that because it’s my profession (and a requirement of The Greenery.) Simply do it. They save your life, time and time again.”
As people who love to host, Caitlyn and Josh made The Greenery their ‘home’ for the entire weekend fully utilizing the property for multiple days. The events began Friday afternoon with the rehearsal dinner on the covered patio and segued to a welcome party turned unexpected “epic” dance party indoors, which we believe may be attributed to DJ Josh, our groom. Saturday morning, Caitlyn and her bridesmaids enjoyed the onsite bridal suites for hair, makeup, and day-of preparations.
Incorporating a first look was the bride and groom’s favorite part of their day, a quiet moment together.. The two met on the edge of the apple orchard, where they would later be joined by family and friends for the formal ceremony. This was a place where Caitlyn and Josh broke away from tradition. Since they had a large bridal party the couple opted for the bridesmaids and groomsmen to gather in a semi-circle around them with lush white florals enhancing the circular layout.
Elegance and romance best describe Caitlyn and Josh’s wedding design. The palette was a fusion of their favorite colors, white and burgundy, which became more prominent over the course of the celebration. The ceremony aesthetic was predominantly white as seen through the abundant florals and bridesmaid dresses. The reception is where the color came out to play, infused to subtly surprise and delight guests. Floral chandeliers, taper candles and gorgeou centerpieces featuring garden roses and ranunculus richly contrasted the interior space - “Kerianne Nelson Flora nailed our vision!” Every detail was thoughtfully considered from adorning the room's perimeter with glowing candles to selecting tablecloths that matched the lace on the bride’s dress.
Caitlyn shared, “The Greenery was truthfully everything I wanted and more….[The Greenery] is the perfect blank slate that can be transformed into anything imaginable.” Fortunately for Caitlyn and Josh, The Greenery was destined to be the home of their weekend celebration!
